CLEVELAND, OH - The Mid-American Conference announced today the Distinguished Scholar Athletes from the eight spring sports during the 2016-2017 academic season. Among the list of 186 athletes, were eight University at Buffalo student-athletes. This list was voted on by the faculty athletic representatives, and represents the "best of the best" from each sports' Academic All-MAC teams.
It is graduation weekend at the University at Buffalo and 92 student-athletes will cross the stage to receive their diplomas. Every team had at least one graduate with the track and field team leading the way with 21 graduates.
The NCAA released annual Division I Academic Progress Rate (APR) data on Thursday afternoon and nine UB programs had perfect single-year rates for 2015-16, while men’s tennis continues to lead the charge with a perfect four-year rate.
The UB Athletics Coaches Caravan will be hitting the road again this spring, making two stops in New York and one in Washington D.C. BUFFALO, NY – Third-year women’s soccer head coach Shawn Burke announced the signing of 9-year old Sarah Reid to a National Letter of Intent on Thursday afternoon. Reid was paired up with the UB women’s soccer program through a program called Team IMPACT, a non-profit organization that helps children forget about their illness and become part of something bigger, a team of friends.
