The NCAA East Preliminaries concluded on Saturday with Devon Patterson competing in the men’s shot put. Patterson closed out his season placing 16th of the 48 competitors, narrowly missing out on punching his ticket to Eugene in the top-12.
Action continued on Friday at the NCAA East Preliminaries in Tampa, FL and the University at Buffalo had three student-athletes competing. Sam Wray, Selina Von Jackowski and Miranda Daucher were all in action.
Mitchell Moore posted his second best ever time in the 400m hurdles on Thursday, the first day of the NCAA Track and Field East Preliminaries hosted by University of South Florida. Moore finished the race with a time of 52.14 to finish 29th. He was ranked 37th going into the race. He finished a mere inches from advancing to the quarterfinals.
The University at Buffalo men’s basketball team will return to the Carrier Dome for the second straight year as the Bulls will face Syracuse in a non-conference showdown on Dec. 18. After having not played since 2001, the two teams met last season in a game that Syracuse won late, 81-74.

Reid becomes the second Bull in the last two seasons to sign a professional contract as JoAnna Smith signed in Portugal after her UB career a season ago.

The University at Buffalo men’s basketball team has been selected to participate in the second annual Belfast Classic in Northern Ireland, it was announced on Tuesday afternoon by the Sport Changes Life Foundation. The event runs from November 29 through December 1 and will be broadcasted nationally across the United States.

Jeff Burrow has been named the director of player personnel for the University at Buffalo football team, head coach Lance Leipold announced on Monday. Burrow brings with him 16 years of collegiate coaching experience, including the last seven seasons as a defensive coach at Kent State.

University at Buffalo men’s tennis senior Petr Vodak has been named the Northeast regional selection for the Arthur Ashe Leadership & Sportsmanship Award, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced. Vodak just completed an amazing two-year career with the Bulls, while working to finish his degree in International Trade.
The University at Buffalo football team has signed an agreement to play a pair of Big Ten opponents in future seasons. It was announced on Wednesday the Bulls will play at Ohio State in 2020 and at Maryland in 2022.
The University at Buffalo Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) recently held their elections for the 2018-2019 executive board. The newly appointed executive board is President Devon Patterson, Vice-President Matthew Mercer, Community Outreach Max Glazowski, Spirit Officer Gianna Yurchak, and Secretary Selina von Jackowski. Yurchak is a member of the women’s soccer team, while the remained of the E-Board are members of the cross country and track and field programs.

University at Buffalo men’s basketball senior Wes Clark has been invited to attend the Professional Basketball Combine presented by HFactor. This is a secondary draft combine designed to give players an opportunity to showcase their talents in hopes of being selected to play professional basketball. Each player who attends has the opportunity to participate in private workouts and scrimmages, do combine testing, and interview for NBA GMs, NBA scouts, G-League personnel and overseas opportunities in what could be a life changing experience.

One of the highlights of the day was the men’s 400m hurdles where the Bulls took both the gold and the bronze.
The University at Buffalo women’s tennis team saw their season come to an end on Friday as the Bulls lost 4-0 to Northwestern in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. For the first time in school history, the Bulls won multiple sets in singles action, claiming a pair of first sets.

The Mid-American Conference Champion University at Buffalo women’s tennis team placed four individuals on the Academic All-MAC Team, the conference office announced on Friday morning. The four honorees tie Toledo and Western Michigan for the most of any team in the league.
The Mid-American Conference announced today the Distinguished Scholar Athletes from the eight winter sports during this 2017-18 academic season as 152 students were voted by faculty athletic representatives at MAC institutions representing the ‘best of the best’ from each sports Academic All-MAC Teams. Eleven University at Buffalo student-athletes from five different teams were named Distinguished Scholar Athletes.
The Mid-American Conference Champion University at Buffalo women’s tennis team will take their 14-match winning streak into NCAA Tournament action on Friday afternoon, as the Bulls will face Northwestern in the opening round. The match will begin at 4pm EST. The winner will advance to Saturday’s Round of 32 against either Kentucky or Kansas State.
BUFFALO, NY – A duo of University at Buffalo softball players were honored on Tuesday afternoon as the Mid-American Conference announced its postseason awards. Freshman Anna Aguon was named to the All-MAC First Team and All-Freshman Team while Jenelle Martinez earned All-MAC Second Team honors.
