Bulls Shut Out by Tennessee Tech in Series Opener, 9-0

COOKEVILLE, TN - The University at Buffalo baseball team was shut out by Tennessee Tech, 9-0, on Friday afternoon at Bush Stadium. On the day, the Bulls were held to five hits.

Tennessee Tech scored five runs in the bottom of the third to take a 6-0 lead, adding three runs by the bottom of the six for a 9-0 victory. The Golden Eagles' A.J. Kirby-Jones scored five of the Golden Eagles' runs off three home runs on the afternoon.

Pinch hitter Bobby Pizzuto went 1-for-1 at the plate while freshman Alex Baldock went 2-for-4 with a pair of base hits to left field. Freshman Tom Murphy recorded three walks.

Starter Chaz Mye (1-2) recorded the Bulls' loss in 5.0 innings of work with a pair of strikeouts.

On Saturday, March 13, the Bulls (5-5) will face the Golden Eagles in a doubleheader with the first pitch set for 12:00 pm.
