Roberts Named MAC East Defensive Player of the Week

BUFFALO, NY – University at Buffalo safety Tim Roberts was named the Mid-American Conference East Division Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday. It is the sixth time this season a Bull has earned MAC Player of the Week recognition.

Roberts had a team-high six tackles, a tackle for loss and an interception against Akron on Saturday. Roberts added a pass breakup against the Zips. The senior safety ranks sixth on the team in tackles with 47 on the season.

It is the sixth time this season a UB player has won MAC Player of the Week honors. Khalil Hodge has won Defensive Player of the Week twice (Sept. 4 & Oct. 16). Kicker Adam Mitcheson was Special Teams Player of the Week on Sept. 25. Running back Emmanuel Reed was named Offensive Player of the Week on Oct. 2. Drew Anderson was named Offensive Player of the Week on Oct. 9.

The Bulls will next be in action on Tuesday, November 7 against Bowling Green at UB Stadium.
