BUFFALO, NY – Senior Hannah Miller was named Mid-American Conference Swimmer of the Week on Thursday morning, as announced by the conference office. This marks the first time Miller has earned the weekly recognition this season, joining fellow senior Megan Burns as the second UB swimmer to earn the weekly honor this season.
Miller was outstanding on Saturday afternoon as the Bulls open their MAC slate with a dominant 218-82 victory over the Toledo Rockets. The senior started off her day winning the 1000 freestyle in dominant fashion as she posted a season-best time of 10:18.41, winning the race by nine seconds. Miller was then back in the pool for the very next race and won the 200 freestyle in dramatic fashion. Trailing the Toledo swimmer on the last lap, Miller exploded down the stretch as was able to collect the win by just touching ahead of the Rockets swimmer for the victory. She was then able to rest before closing out her day with another dominant victory in the 500 freestyle as she posted a season-best time of 5:02.86, winning the race by four seconds.
Buffalo will return to the pool this weekend as they travel to Ohio for their second MAC meet of the season on Saturday. The meet will start at 12:00 pm on Saturday.
