BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo volleyball team lost its Mid-American Conference match against Miami (OH) on Saturday evening, 3-0. The Bulls dropped to 8-6 on the year and 0-2 in league play.
The visiting RedHawks took the contest, 27-25, 25-17, 25-19, as Miami outhit UB, .227 to .085. The Bulls had their best chance in a back and forth opening set. The RedHawks led 23-20 in the first when the Bulls scored four straight points, capped off on an ace from freshman Paige Beck. The Bulls had two set points in the first, but Miami fought them both off, going on to win the set, 27-25.
The RedHawks opened a 15-10 led in the second set, increasing the lead to as much as 23-15 before they clinched it, 25-17. In the third, the set was tied at 10-10 when the RedHawks went on a 6-2 run to take the 16-12 advantage. A Miami block, clinched the set and the match.
The Bulls will continue MAC play on the road next weekend beginning at Ohio on Friday evening followed by a trip to Kent State on Saturday.
