BUFFALO, NY - Former University at Buffalo men's basketball forward Montell McRae will continue his basketball career across the pond as he has signed with Cheshire Phoenix, a member of the British Basketball League.
McRae is a two-time MAC Champion as he was a part of 59 victories over the last two seasons in the Blue and White. The Cleveland, OH native started in all 36 games for the Bulls, averaging 5.6 points and 3.4 rebounds per contest. He shot 54.5% from the floor and 35.5% from three point range during the year.
McRae had a career high 18 points this past year in Buffalo's MAC-opening win over Eastern Michigan. It was one of six double-figure performances for him on the year. He had eight points and a season-best 10 rebounds in Buffalo's win over Milwaukee in the first round of the Belfast Hall of Fame Classic.
The Cheshire Phoenix are based in Ellesmere Port, United Kingdom and play their home games at Cheshire Oaks Arena. The British Basketball League is the highest level of basketball in Great Britain. The league is composed of 12 teams, including the Manchester Giants, the team which former Bull David Kadiri played for.
